Week of June 8-12

Learning Objective: Students will correctly sequence the steps to make a sandwich.

Materials Needed: “Making a Peanut Butter and Jelly” worksheet (will be mailed to you); brailler, braille paper.

Activity: Students will read the “Making a Peanut and Butter Jelly Sandwich” worksheet and sequence the steps in the correct order.

Learning Objective:

Students will identify different food items by their descriptions.

Materials Needed:

Food Riddle worksheet (will be e-mailed to you), braille writer and paper.

Activity:

Read Food Riddle worksheet and identify the food described. Braille your answer.

Learning Objective: Students will compare 2 grocery items and decide which one costs more/less.

Materials Needed: Comparing prices worksheet (will be e-mailed)

Activity: Compare 2 prices of grocery items. Which one costs more and which one is less?

Week of May 18-22

Learning Objective: Students will demonstrate knowledge of what is stored in the refrigerator and freezer.

Materials Needed: Read food choices on the worksheet and decide if the food should be stored in the freezer or refrigerator. You will need an assortment of real food that can be sorted in the refrigerator and freezer. (worksheet will be mailed/emailed to you). You can braille your answers.

Activity: Students will read/listen to different food choices and decide if food should be stored in the freezer or refrigerator. Have a family member gather an assortment of food items from the refrigerator and freezer and the student can place them back in the correct spot.

Week of May 11-15

Learning Objective: Students will determine what kind of stores that purchases can be made.

Materials need: Store worksheet, real objects: toys, grocery items, and clothing; and sorting boxes

Activity: After gathering and identifying objects, students will determine if each object could be bought in a toy store, grocery store, or clothing store. He/she will place the item into the correct container.

Week of May 4-8

Learning Objective: Students will increase their housekeeping, food management and clothing management skills by working at home. Students will identify kitchen tools and their functions.

Materials Needed: Kitchen Tool Worksheet, Braille Writer and paper

Activity: Help with housekeeping jobs at home and Braille/ dictate to parent what you completed. Read function of kitchen tools worksheet. Use the Word Bank to find your answers.Braille worksheet will be mailed.

Week of April 20-24

Learning Objective: Students will identify self-awareness in the area of strengths and things that they need to work on.

Activity: Complete sentences or list your answers from Self-Awareness worksheet. Print and braille copies will be e-mailed/mailed to you.

Materials Needed: Self-awareness worksheets/ brailler and paper

Week of April 6-10

Participate in jobs in the home.

Braille a list of jobs completed.
