Learning Objective: Students will give their opinion on how to solve a social conflict and learn the meanings of idioms.

Materials Needed: “ A Friend Picks a Fight” worksheet (will be e-mailed), braille writer, paper, computer or I-Pad.

Activity: Read “A Friend Picks a Fight” scenario and complete discussion questions.

Learning Objective:

Students will interpret a food recipe.

Materials Needed:

Interpreting a recipe worksheet. (Yummy Bars) (will be e-mailed to you), braille writer or computer to record your answers

Activity:

Students will read the Yummy Cereal Bar recipe and answer the questions.

Learning Objective: Students will distinguish between a credit card or a debit card.

Materials Needed: Credit card vs Debit card worksheet/Scenario worksheet (will be e-mailed)

Activity: Part 1: Students will read the short descriptions and decide if it describes a credit card or debit card.

Part 2: Read the scenarios and answer questions.

Learning Objective: Students will practice responses to different conflict situations.

Materials Needed: “What Would You Do?” worksheet. (will be e-mailed to you)

Activity: Students will read “What Would You Do?” and record their responses to resolve the conflict.

Learning Objective: Students will identify kitchen tools by its functions. Students will increase their independent living skills by participating in home chores.

Materials Needed: Kitchen Tool worksheet (will be e-mailed to you); brailler and paper

Activity: Read “Kitchen Tool” worksheet. Using the word bank at the end of the worksheet to pick the kitchen tool that matches the description of the tool’s function. Record your answer. Keep practicing your independent living skills by helping at home with chores.

Week of May 4-8

Learning Objective: Students will practice recording deposits and withdrawals.

Materials Needed: Worksheet: "Making Deposits and Withdrawals"; read and solve.

Activity: Students will read the "Making deposits and Withdrawals” worksheet story problems and solve. (Worksheet will be e-mailed)


Learning Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding of food safety techniques.

Materials Needed: Read Food Safety Word Challenge. Fill in the blanks using choices from Word Bank.

Learning Objective: Students will identify self-awareness in the area of strengths and things that they need to work on.

Activity: Complete sentences or list your answers from the Self-Awareness worksheet. Print will be e-mailed and braille copies will be mailed to you.
