Learning Objective: Students will sequence the steps to make microwave popcorn.

Materials Needed: “Microwave Popcorn” worksheet, brailler, braille paper.

Activity: Students will read the “Making Microwave Popcorn” worksheet and put the steps in the correct order.

Learning Objective:

Students will identify different food items by their descriptions.

Materials Needed:

Food Riddle worksheet (will be e-mailed to you), braille writer and paper.

Activity:

Read Food Riddle worksheet and identify the food described. Braille your answer.

Learning Objective: Students will decide if an item is a “want” or a “need.”

Materials Needed: “Want” or “Needs” worksheet, braille writer, braille paper. (will be mailed).

Activity: Students will read the list of vocabulary and decide if it is a “want” or “need” and list it under the correct category.

Week of May 18-22

Learning Objective: Students will practice responses to different conflict situations.

Materials Needed: “What Would You Do? worksheet

(will be mailed/e-mailed to you).

Activity: Students will read “What Would You Do?” and record their responses to resolve the conflict.

Learning Objective: Students will identify the kitchen tool by its function.

Student will increase their independent living skills.

Materials Needed: “Kitchen Tool” worksheet / braille writer and paper/

Kitchen tools found in your kitchen

Activity: Read “Kitchen Tool” worksheet. Using the Word Bank at the bottom of the worksheet, pick the correct kitchen tool based on its function. Record answer. Check your kitchen to see if you have these kitchen tools. (Worksheet will be e-mailed to you/ or sent to you).

Please continue to practice your independent living skills by doing chores around your home.

Week of May 4-8

Learning Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding of food safety techniques.

Materials Needed: Food Safety Word Challenge worksheet./ braille writer and paper

Activity: Read Food Safety Word Challenge. Fill in the blanks using the Word Bank. The Word Bank contains answers. Record answer. (Worksheet will be e-mailed to you)

Week of April 27 - May 1

Learning Objective: Daily Living Skills: Students will learn many ways to reuse different items that may be recycled or thrown in garbage.

Materials Needed: "Recycle It" worksheet, Braille writer and paper

Activity: Choose 5 items on "Recycle" worksheet and write at least 3 uses for that item.

Week of April 20-24

Learning Objective: Students will identify self-awareness in the areas of strengths and things to work on.

Activity: Complete sentences or list answers from Self-Awareness worksheet. Print and braille copies will be mailed to you.

Materials Needed: Self-Awareness worksheets /braille writer and paper

Week of April 6-10

Participate in jobs in the home.

Braille a list of jobs completed.
