Learning Objective: Students will give their opinion on how to solve a social conflict and learn the meaning of idioms.

Materials Needed: Worksheet “A Friend Picks a Fight” worksheet, braille writer, paper, computer or I-pad.

Activity: Students will read “A Friend Picks a Fight” scenario and complete discussion questions.

Learning Objective:

Students will interpret a food recipe.

Materials Needed:

Interpreting a recipe worksheet. (Yummy Bars) (will be e-mailed to you), braille writer or computer to record your answers

Activity:

Students will read the Yummy Cereal Bar recipe and answer the questions.

Learning Objective: Students will distinguish between a credit card and a debit card.

Materials Needed: Credit Card vs Debit Card worksheet.

Activity: Part 1: Students will read descriptions and decide it is a credit card or a debit card.

Part 2: Read the scenarios and answer questions.

Learning Objective: Students will practice giving appropriate responses to different conflict situations.

Materials Needed: “What Would You Do? worksheet.

(will be e-mailed to you).

Activity: Students will read “What Would You Do? and record their responses to resolve the conflict.

Activity: Students will read Pasta Trivia questions and research the answers. Record answers.

Period 2: Daily Living Skills (M/W/F):

Week of May 11 - May 15

Learning Objective: Students will identify kitchen tools by their function.

Materials Needed: Kitchen Tool worksheet, braille writer and paper; kitchen tools found in your kitchen. (Worksheet will be e-mailed to you). Students will increase their independent living skills.

Activity: Read “Kitchen Tool” worksheet. Using the Word Bank at the end of the worksheet, pick the name of the kitchen tool that matches the function.

Look for these kitchen tools in your kitchen at home. Keep working on your independent living skills by completing chores at home.

Week of May 4-8

Learning Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding of food safety techniques.

Materials Needed: Food Safety Word Challenge worksheet/ braille writer and paper

Activity: Read Food Safety Word Challenge. Fill in the blanks using the Word Bank. The Word Bank contains answers. Record answer. (Worksheet will be e-mailed to you)

Week of April 27-May 1

Learning Objective: Students will identify self-awareness strengths and weaknesses.

Activity: Complete sentences or list answers from Self-Awareness worksheet. Braille will be mailed and print will be e-mailed.

Participate in housekeeping activities and braille list of jobs completed.
